The operational environmental policy is the written explanation over the intentions and principles of an organization (enterprise, authority, etc.) in environmental protection.

The production of a written environmental policy is obligatorily on organizations, which introduce an environmental management system according to ISO 14001 or EMAS regulation, prescribed. As strategic document the environmental policy must be specified of the highest line of the organization (e.g. the management). In the defaults ISO 14001 and minimum requirements are specified to EMAS regulation to an environmental policy, for example must commit itself the organization to the adherence to the requirements from the environment law and to the constant improvement of the environmental achievement.
