Official evaluation is a term from the official right. The evaluation refers to the performance evaluation of the officials and is for federal officials in "§"§ the 40 FF. the federal career regulation (BLV) regulated, whereby for the land and local officials in the respective Lands of the Federal Republic almost identical regulations exist. By the regulations for official evaluation suitability and achievement of all officials are to be judged regularly (amounted to at expiration of certain maximum periods, the maximally 5 years) or from special cause (application on another place). The evaluation is to extend to general and mental assessment, character, education conditions, work, social behavior and maximum stress and with a locking total note ends ("§"§ 40 f. BLV).

The official evaluation is not a act of administration due to missing external effect, is however administrativejudicially examinable.

The total notes in ascending sequence of badly after good:

fulfilled not the requirements (= not been suitable)

fulfilled still the requirement (= still been suitable)

fulfills the requirements (= suitably)

fulfilled fully the requirement (= without reservation been suitable)

steps out (= well been suitable)

steps out substantially (this evaluation in many authorities actually for a transport is needed) (= very well been suitable)

outstanding (= excellent been suitable)

Special regulations apply with severely disabled one, service forces in the maternity protection and in the maternity leave. In the evaluation restrictions in the serviceability and special achievements are considering the handicap to point out (regulation for the execution of the severely disabled law in the public service).

A sample time evaluation is provided, if a civil servant terminated the official-legal Probezeit. All following evaluations are periodic evaluations.
