Edward Theodore Gein, called OD Gein, (* 27 August 1906 in La Crosse, Wisconsin; "† 26 July 1984 in Waupun, Wisconsin) was a series murderer, who murdered at least two women, graves violated and from corpse parts of articles of clothing, four coverings for basket armchair and nine Gesichtsmasken from dried skin manufactured themselves. This diseased behavior had with Gein begun, when its nut/mother had deceased, at which the bachelor emotional much hung. When policemen examined his farm house in Wisconsin on 17 November 1957, they found parts more different beside the expenditure-feasted corpse of the shop owner Benice Warden also different corpses (at least 15), under it a collection noses, female sex organs and Gesichtsmasken. In a pan on the stove one found a heart - to other reports according to in a paper bag beside the stove. Whether Gein was actually also a Kannibale, remained however unclear. OD Gein was arrested and confessed later two murders. Since it was not criminally liable regarded however as, one transferred it into to cent ral the State hospital in Waupun, Wisconsin. In November 1968 he was then explained nevertheless still for criminally liable, placed and condemned before court. The court instructed it again into cent ral the State hospital, in which it lived up to its death (it died at cancer) on 26 July 1984.

Films

The acts of OD Gein were model for over 15 films, under it Alfred Hitchcocks Psycho (1960), Texas Chainsaw measure acre (1974) and its Remake, Michael Bay's Texas Chainsaw measure acre (2003). 2001 developed for material OD for the first time under the direction of Chuck Parello a filming of the history of the Gein. OD Gein energized also the Thriller author Thomas Harris; for example the murderer "Buffalo Bill" is based into the silence of the lambs (1991 of Jonathan Demme filmed) on OD Gein.

Music

OD Gein was also inspiration for different music pieces: e.g. for "DEAD Skin MASK "of Slayer, "emergency-hung tons of Gein "of Mudvayne, "old Mean OD Gein "of The Fibonaccis or "Nipple Belt "of TAD. The moreover one there is a Song of the same name the US volume Killdozer. In the Booklet that CD Little baby Buntin is also a radiograph shown by OD Geins head, since one assumed that so ill a spirit would show also abnormalities in the brain. Besides whole music volume calls itself "‚OD Gein `. The Swedish Death Metal volume Deranged designated itself after the film of the same name, which acts of OD Gein, and an album with the title Plainfield cemetary (dt. "‚Plainfield cemetery `) published, in which with the acts of the series murderer one deals. The singer and Schlagzeuger the Austrian volume "from Outer space ""‚DEAD Gein calls itself Bloodsucking Zombies `- as a kind Homage to the series murderer.

• In the Japanese Manga Rurouni Kenshin was OD Gein the model for the character Gein, which built dolls and combat machines from corpse parts.
