The nature park Habichtswald is to the west of Kassel in the north of the hessian mountain country (Germany).

474 km large nature park was created 1962. Internationally is it admits William height in particular by the mountain park.

Geography

Situation

The nature park Habichtswald is one of the northernmost parts of the extensive hessian mountain country. Toward the north it drops to the Diemeltal. In the northeast it goes over a unbewaldeten and elongated elevator back, which rises between Vellmar and Fuldatal Ihringshausen north of Kassel, into the pure hard forest in the Weser mountain country over. Toward the east the Kasseler in such a way specified follows basins, behind which the Kaufunger forest rises. Also in the southeast a unbewaldeter and elongated leads up between Kassel and Baunatal of the nature park Habichtswald to the which rises east the Fuldatals. In the south and southwest those drops mountain country shank into the Edertal, at whose other banks the cellar forest rises. In latter direction and to the west the Waldecker follows country and the long forest the park area.

Landscape

The nature park Habichtswald covers the actual Habichtswald, a forest-rich low mountain range, which follows west Kassel.
