In Germany at present 15 receive-worth nature areas were raised to national park:
- National park Schleswig Holsteini Wattenmeer - since 1985, 441,000 hectars
- National park Wattenmeer of Lower Saxony - since 1986, 240,000 hectars
- National park Vorpommer Boddenlandschaft - since 1990, 80,500 hectars
- National park - since 1990, 32,000 hectars
- National park lower Odertal - since 1990, 32,884 hectars
- National park Bavarian forest - since 1970, 13,042 hectars, extension 1997, altogether 24,250 hectars
- National park Berchtesgaden - since 1978, 21,000 hectars
- National park resin - since 1994, 15,800 hectars, after union 2005 with national park high resin 24,700 hectars
- National park Hamburgi Wattenmeer - since 1990, 13,750 hectars
- National park the Eifel - since 2004, 11,000 hectars
- National park Saxonian Switzerland - since 1990, 9,292 hectars
- National park Hainich - since 1997, 7,600 hectars
- National park Kellerwald Edersee - since 2004, 5,724 hectars
- National park Jasmund - since 1990, 3,000 hectars
- National park Senne harrow/selvedge - (planned)
With 913.431 hectars German national park about 2.6% of the federal territory take.
The national park Elbtalaue was again dissolved directly after its mechanism 1998 because of a complaint 1999 - the area does not fulfill the requirements to the nature leavingness.
The national park resin and the national park high resin were united to beginning of 2005 to a national park. Thus the designation "national park high resin" is void.
