The noncommittal price recommendation (UVP) is the price, which is recommended by the manufacturer in the sales to the final consumer, but is obligatory on the retail trade not.

By the declaration of a price (e.g. in the advertisement) as UVP price the recruiting dissociates itself from the general validity of the indicated price.

There are noncommittal price recommendations in the Federal Republic of Germany, since on 1 January 1974 the fixed price connection of branded articles was waived.
