Nolan Bushnell (* 5 February 1943 in Clearfield, Utah) is founder of the computer company Atari, which was popular to beginning of the 90's on the market of the video game development.

Bushnell originates from a Mormonen family in Utah, is even however not not religious. It studied electro-technology at the universities of Utah and Stanford, where it came for the first time into contact with computers. Bushnell planned to be brought out the play was, which by Steve Russell for the DEC PDP-1 one had originally written, as automat version. It produced some copies of the first Arcade automat named "computer space", but in the long run the play was not accepted due to its complexity by the still completely video game-inexperienced potential customers.
