The new partnership for Africa development or NEPAD (new Partnership for Africa's development) is an economic development program of the African union. NEPAD became in July 2001 with the 37. Meeting of the state and heads of the government in Lusaka accepted. Task of NEPAD is it to develop values and to supervise their conversion within the framework of the African union.
NEPAD is a union of the Millennium Partnership for the African Recovery Program (MAP) and OMEGA plan for Africa. The union was reached on 3 July 2001. From the union those developed for new Africa initiative (NAI). The state and head of the government of the organization for African unit (OAU) confirmed NAI on 11 July 2001. The state and head of the government of the G8 confirmed the plan on 20 July 2001. The "Heads OF State implementation Committee" (HSIC) completed the political framework on 23 October 2001 and NEPAD was formed.
