The new Bellona or contributions to the war art and war history was a military technical periodical, which was designated after the Roman war goddess. It was published between 1801 and 1806 by Heinrich of Porbeck on behalf a group of hessian officers and stood in the tradition of an earlier magazine, the Bellona, which had been adjusted 1787. The individual expenditures published with Reinicke& Hinrichs in Leipzig to the fourth coalition war for adjustment the pressure led.
The emphasis of the magazine was on the evaluation of the experiences from the revolution wars. In their the current military literature was discussed and written papers to the war nature. Thus the magazine served also as platform of progressive officers. In the year 1805 among other things Carl von Clausewitz published his first essay anonymous in the new Bellona.
