At the beginning of the 1930er years developed professor Walther Nernst as well as the companies Bechstein (mechanics) and Siemens (electronics) an electroacoustic Piano (E-Piano), well-known under the names Neo Bechstein or Bechstein Siemens Nernst wing, whereby the strings with micro hammers were fastened was shown and the oscillations inductively with Pickups taken up, with a tube amplifier strengthened (and regarding tone quality affected) and over loudspeakers.
To the amplifier additionally Schallplattenspieler and broadcast receiver (radio) could be attached, which opened completely new play possibilities (e.g. Orchestra part of a piano concert of the record like today as music minus one admits) and the active house music in relation to the passive radio listening to promote should.
From space reasons in each case five strings under a Pickup were united.
The instrument was its time too far ahead, so that only about 15 copies were built, from which today only two functioning exist, one in Vienna and one in Berlin. The latter comes occasionally with avant-garde music Events to the public employment.
