The nature park stupid is in the districts of Lower Saxony Diepholz and Vechta and the North-Rhine/Westphalian circle Minden Northeast from it is appropriate for on the average 34 km between Diepholz and Bohmte, as well as between and Rahden.

That nearly 500 km large nature park, by which in north after south direction also the Weser Ems water sheath runs, covers the Dammer of mountains, the stupid (probably the special attention of the nature park) in its landscape protection area under others, the Stemweder mountain and numerous moorlands (e.g. the "large moorland" and the Oppenweher moorland).

The nature park stupid and above all the stupid is breeding and lay-by for numerous migratory birds. Numerous water ditches pull the park area through, by which also the Hunte flows. The extensive Hochmoore exhibit a singular Flora and fauna. Finds from the Jungsteinzeit white on the fact that humans were already tightened in before-historical time of the fruitful soils and the diversity of species and lived even here.
