The nature park south heath is 1964 a created nature park in the eastern Lower Saxony in the district Celle between the cities Celle and Uelzen. It is coined/shaped during thin settlement of wide forest surfaces and smaller heath surfaces, which on meager sandy soils.
That about 500 km large nature park south heath lies few kilometers north of Celle. It extends from there between mountains in the west, over Uelzen in the northeast and in the east. In the brooks partially standing under nature protection numerous endangered planting and animal species have their habitat. The origin of the heath brooks often lies in idyllischen moorlands. The Oertze is because of its a running waters popular with Kanuten.
With Hermannsburg still expanded heath surfaces are present and with Niederohe east of tired ones live large Heidschnuckenherden. With Schmarbeck there is a Wacholderpark, with which it concerns a heath surface existed with old Wacholdern.
