The nature park Nossentiner/Schwinzer heath lies in the western area of the Mecklenburgian sea-plate in the districts and Parchim in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It is between the cities Plau at the lake, gold mountain, Krakow because of the lake and Malchow. It was created 1990 and confirmed in the context of the national regulation 1994 finally. The total area of the nature park is about 36,5 km 60% of this surface are of forest covered, approx. 14% are lakes and rivers, the remainder surface are culture landscape. Altogether there are nearly 60 lakes, the nebulas and the Mildenitz in the nature park rises here. Special characteristic of the nature park are the Sander, remaining sand and gravel deposits from the ice age. Also numerous moorlands coin/shape the landscape. In the nature park breed sea-eagles, fish eagles and Rohrdommel. The nature park can be attained well by means of the A19 connection Malchow. In the proximity of the nature park also the monastery Dobbertin lies.
