The 1961 created nature park Lauenburgi seas lies in the circle duchy Lauenburg in the southeast of Schleswig-Holstein directly at the border to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in an ice-age coined/shaped landscape. It is also over 470 km the third biggest nature park of Schleswig-Holstein with expanded forest areas. The nature park Lauenburgi seas, are 40 at the number, borders directly on the Mecklenburgian biosphere reservation Schaalsee and forms with this together a large protected area along the former German domestic border.

The largest seas in the nature park are the Ratzeburger lake and the Schaalsee, which are connected besides by the Schaalsee channel beginning with Salem.

With bathers and anglers is also the Behlendorfer lake likes.

In the nature park Ratzeburg and with the light brook valley are appropriate for the far district town. By the nature park - in some places, like still with Fredeburg, as medieval route - the old person salt road from Lueneburg runs to Luebeck. The nature park is limited after the west between Berkenthin and in approximately by the Elbe Luebeck channel.
