The nature park Erzgebirge/Vogtland covers an area in the southeast of Germany between the Vogtland and the ore mountains up to the border to Tschechien. It is thereby the nature park of Germany with the largest linear dimension of 120 km. Sponsor organization is the "Zweckverband nature park Erzgebirge/Vogtland". It covers the following protected areas:

• 228 surface nature thinking marks (FND)
• 15 landscape protection areas (LSG)
• 41 protected areas (ISD)
• 3 bird protected areas

Landscape

Nature park with a total area of approximately 1,495 km lies between the white Elster in the Vogtland and the Freiberger hollow in the east ore mountains in a height of approximately 500 m NN and with the Fichtelberg to 1,215 m and covers all important protected areas, forests, nature thinking marks, which are in close proximity to Elstergebirge and ore mountain comb, thus in the upper parts of west ore mountains and east ore mountains. It extends over the Vogtlandkreis, over the districts Aue Schwarzenberg, Anna mountain, middle ore mountain circle and the district free mountain.
