The nature park Diemelsee lies in the border area of the German Lands of the Federal Republic Hessen and North Rhine-Westphalia and is 335 km largely. It is part of the red hair mountains. In the east and southeast the nature park borders on the Waldecker level, in the north and northwest on the Paderborner high surface and the Arnsberger forest. The Diemel and the Aar, a northern supply of the Eder flow through it.
