Material properties change are manufacturing by changing the characteristics of a material, of which a workpiece consists. This is done mostly via changes in the submicroscopic and/or inter+atomic range, for example with diffusion of atoms, production and movement of transfers in the atomic space lattice and with chemical reactions. These mechanisms are induced predominantly by temperature influence and are affected in its effect by temperature, pressure and material concentration. Usually also unavoidable deformations (for example hardness delay) arise.

In mechanical engineering the following characteristics are purposefully affected by the manufacturing methods material property of changing:

• Hardness
• Firmness
• Elasticity
• Elasticity
