Moriz of Kuffner (*30. 1854 in Ottakring with Vienna (today the 16. Viennese municipality district), "† 5. March 1939 in Zurich) was a Austrian Industrieller.

Life

It was born as a son of the Ignaz, noble one of Kuffner, the owner of the Ottakringer brewery. After the study at the technical University of Vienna he took over 1882 the line of the brewery.

Admits became it however by the Kuffner observatory established by him in vienna Ottakring. The inheritance of its father and his uncle made possible to finance it both the establishment and the current enterprise.

Beside the observatory it in addition, still different interests, like philosophy, had literature in addition, political economy. In addition it had an important collection of Albrecht with cuts and engravings. It ranked among the turn of the century to the most important mountain climbers of Austria.

1900 he was selected into the executive committee Israeli tables of the Kultusgemeinde, to which he belonged until 1918.

In the year 1938 it lost first his Mrs. Elsa and its son Ignaz and got sick even heavily. Due to its faith it left Austria shortly thereafter and emigrierte into Switzerland, where it deceased however to 1939.

Its son Stephan established the Moriz and Elsa of Kuffner donation in Switzerland.
