Moritz Carl Hensoldt (* 11 November 1821 in Lindenau, Thuringia; "† 10 October 1903 in Wetzlar) was a German entrepreneur and is considered as a pioneer of the optics. He was joint founder of the optical-fine-mechanical industry Wetzlars.

Life

Moritz Hensoldt is born on 11 November 1821 in the Thuringian Lindenau, as a son of the later herzoglichen office secretary Heinrich Christoph Hensoldt and its wife Karoline Margarethe geb. angels, who pulled with their children after 1829 after sun mountain (Thuringia).
