Look-merry (also Gaffer, commander of curb) are persons, who appear themselves spontaneously for the observation of a spectacular event. In many cases it concerns unwillkommene spectators, whereby the term receives a negative Konnotation, in particular Gaffer is clear devaluing.

The term is usually applied to the observers of an accident, who are felt as disturbing and hinderlich with necessary rescue actions and no will for active assistance to show. Their motivation reaches from curiosity over sensation greed up to the damage joy. Psychologists describe that the Gaffen helps the stabilization of the own Ichs. The Gaffer becomes conscious that it goes other more badly than it.

In some situations look-merry can be nevertheless also helpful, since perhaps they observed an event or important information to have.

Not when look-merry are designated persons, who discover for example an accident, an emergency call to set off and first help render.

The Bavarian fire-brigade law (BayFwG) offers the right instrument of the place reference against look-merry:

As far as police is not available, guidance ranks of the fire-brigade can or of them assigned in individual cases crew ranks entering the damage place and its environment to forbid or persons from there refer and the damage place and the employment area of the fire-brigade to close, if otherwise the employment were obstructed. Direct obligation by physical force and their aids may be used according to the kind 37, 40 exp. 1, 2 and 3, kind 43 exp. 1 sets of 1 and 2 as well as exp. of 3 sets of 1 and 3 of the law of task of police ("§ 25).
