The history of the enterprise Montblanc begins already 1906 - at this time A. Eberstein in Berlin created the company "Simplizissimus 1907 were renamed this enterprise into the "Simplo Filler Pen company" and one year was shifted later (1908) the enterprise to Hamburg.

1910 came the first "Montblanc" stylograph on the market. It had still another completely white cap head and corresponded from the Design to the "Rouge et Noir" to a large extent. Why exactly the name "Montblanc" was selected, is today to a large extent unknown. For this there are different stories.
