To standardize the spice work Moguntia 1903 in Mainz of the butcher Friedrich book wood based over mainly sausage spice mixtures and and specify in prescriptions. Already in the year 1895 book wood specified these mixtures in prescriptions and packed these. It derived the name Moguntia from the old Roman name for the city Mainz, Moguntiacum.

The old in the number brook belonging to the Mainzer quarter Bretzenheim was referred into the 1930er years and is shut down since 2001. Before it in the year 1925 the built building served a shoe factory. The building complex was brought 1938 and 1950 into the today's U-form, the forms here the optical center. In the building today no mill technology is more received. Since that several temporary art exhibitions took place therein. About a durable Nachnutzung of the building standing under industrial monument one thinks.

Since 1955 the production location lies in the Austrian work Kirchbichl.
