Those minimum commercial market GmbH is a daughter of the REWE German supermarket KGaA with seat in Mainz Kastel.

Under the mark minimum the REWE group in Germany and Poland operates supermarkets, which belong to the category of the full servicers or Vollsortimenter.

First minimum was opened 1973. The supermarkets had a sales area of approx. 800 to 1000 m which for conditions at that time was unusually large. Later most minimum markets had a sales area from approximately 1200 to 1500 m In the year 1990 at that time still West German chain in the new Lands of the Federal Republic began to expand. So the first minimum market in Wanzleben, was opened to 1990 Saxonia-Anhalt.

In the year 2004 decided the REWE, its smaller branch supermarkets of the selling lines HL-market to convert and Otto measuring to at the end of of 2005 into minimum markets. Since then the mark minimum no longer only the larger branch supermarkets of the REWE reserved, but enclosure also markets with a sales area is starting from 400 m
