The military-scientific round-look was a military technical periodical, which appeared from 1936 to 1944 in the German Reich.

The magazine developed in the course of the rearmament of the German armed forces. It was published first by the realm war Ministry (1936-1937) and afterwards by the war-historical department of the general staff of the army, whose task was it warfare scientifically to investigate to represent war events and stranger of armies the war experiences to evaluate and the military bibliography to care for. The establishment of the magazine reflected the new self-assurance of the military guidance in this regard again.

The magazine appeared for the first time in January 1936 in the publishing house Ernst Siegfried intermediary son and in the following years every two months was given change. Their extent amounted to 8 to 10 pressure elbows and the yearly purchase price amounted to 12 realm Marks (18 realm Marks abroad). Armed forces member and personalities, those with this in connection stood received particularly favorable purchase prices. Starting from 1940 only four expenditures per year appeared. At the end of the yearly 1942 the line and publication of the magazine ignored directly to the supreme command of the armed forces and it appeared 1943 and 1944 to only in each case two expenditures before the project was suspended.

The military-scientific round-look saw itself in the tradition of the quarter booklets for troop guidance and army customer, a magazine from 1904 to 1914 had appeared. In this the tasks had been formulated as follows: "The magazine brings essays of tactical and war-historical contents as well as message over interesting maneuvers and reports over stranger to armies. With the latter above all weight put on the rendition for the organization, the training and guidance substantial one and instructive one, not in the form of bare compositions, but final essays." The military-scientific round-look served in the Vorkriegszeit as important forum for the spreading of progressive military theories. Thus by the different authors not only warfare of the First World War and the wars in Abessenien and China were analyzed, but also developed the conceptions for tactical procedures of the Second World War. Thus among other things also Heinz Guderian of essays published over future tank tactics. Also the conceptions of the blitzkrieg and the total war were brought up for discussion. Often important publications only published in the military-scientific round-look, before they were published as book. So e.g. the book "the defense" of the general William knight of Leeb. After the outbreak of war analyses and combat reports that were added differently campaigns until 1941. Starting from the year 1942 the clay/tone of the magazine took however more and more the form of "exhortations to hold out and victory".

Taken up after the war the tradition of the magazine to West Germany by the militaryscientific round-look again.
