Michael Albert (* 1947) is an author and political activist in the anarchistisch--socialist autonomy movement. It lives in Boston (Massachusetts/USA).

Together with Robin Hahnel developed Michael Albert a vision for an economic system, which it calls "Participatory Economics" (Parecon).

Albert postulates a society, which is steered neither by markets nor by central planning and neither competition nor control knows. Instead this society is based on partizipatorischer planning and division. Each humans are to be able to contribute decisions to the extent, in which he or she is affected by these.

Michael Albert is publisher of the Internet platform ZNet as well as co-editor and joint founder of the political Web magazine of Z-magazines (Z-liking). He is founder of the publishing house South ends presses and authors of a multiplicity of books and articles.
