The Miba AG is a manufacturer of sinter shaped parts, sliding bearings and friction linings and in this form supplier of international vehicle, course, ship, airplane and power station manufacturers. Enterprise seat is still Laakirchen in upper Austria. The company name is derived from the surname of the enterprise founder Franz memo designer.

23.08 per cent of the corporation at the Viennese stock exchange, the remainder are in family estate and their private donation are acted. 2005 obtained the enterprise a conversion of 347 million euro, about which 155.4 millions to the sinter range, 130.8 millions to the sliding bearing range and 59.9 millions to the friction lining range were allotted. 95% of the conversion are gained outside of Austria.

Locations

The enterprise orders apart from Austria within the sinter range since beginning of the 1990er-Jahre over production locations in Italy, Spain, the Slowakei and Brazil. Within the sliding bearing range Miba has since 1989 a foreign production location in the United States, where also friction linings are manufactured. These are likewise produced since 1989 also in Great Britain. 2006 are to begin sliding bearing production in China.

Pure commercial establishments without manufacturing plants are since 1978 in Germany, since 1990 in Singapore, since 1994 in Italy and since 1996 in France.

History

The enterprise was created 1927 as repair and production workshop of engines. Since 1949 also sliding bearings are manufactured, which are needed for example in shipbuilding, and 1963 began the production of sinter shaped parts. 1975 began the production of friction linings, which are needed among other things for brake linings in high-speed courses. 1978 took place the first foreign address in Germany. 1986 took place the stock exchange course. Since that time the enterprise at the Viennese stock exchange is listed.
