The Meier is the city magazine for the Rhine Neckar triangle. It reported on the cultural and social life in Mannheim, Ludwigshafen, Heidelberg and drumherum and appears monthly at the price of 1,80"€ (conditions: April 2006).

Came out the Meier from the folding sheet "for eye and ear" of an alternative concert organizer. This consisted at first of a pure appointment calendar for meetings, but was added gradually also editorial contributions.

Center of the eighties appeared the magazine then for short time under the name speed, sold this names however after short time to an appearing country wide spirit of the time Postille and called themselves in its current names over.

Until into the center of the 90's the Meier could appear still free as display in taverns and business, then one decided itself to the change into a "normal" magazine.

Emphasis Meier is still the appointment calendar, but forms the editorial part an important counterweight to the daily papers of the region, which represent a quasi-monopoly in their cities.
