The medical further training has as a goal after the study of the medicine and the professional training, i.e. after the license to practise medicine as a physician or after the distribution of permission for the practice of the medical occupation in the context of professional activity of several years under guidance for the further training of authorized physicians on the basis of the training further order detailed knowledge, experiences and talents for defines medical activities to acquire.

On the basis of the training further order the physician chamber assigns authorized physicians and the certified training further places in an area the title of a specialist in accordance with examination of the further training with for further training.

After acquisition of an area designation a further qualification can take place, e.g. in"Â…

• Emphasis (emphasis of the internal medicine is among other things the Kardiologie, the Rheumatologie)
• Fakultativen training further (the specialist for nerve medicine can itself e.g. into the Fakultativen further training clinical Geriatrie qualify)
• Technical instructions (in the child medicine among other things technical instruction in laboratory tests, technical instructions in the Sonographie of the thorax organs or the gastro-intestinal tract)

In addition it is possible to train itself further in certain fields of the medicine as e.g. in Allergologie or flight medicine.
