Maxim Zetkin (* 1 August 1883 in Paris, "† 19 August 1965 in Berlin) was a German politician and surgeon.

Maxim Zetkin was born 1883 as a son of Ossip and Clara Zetkin in Paris. After the attendance of a High School in Stuttgart Zetkin from 1902 to 1908 studied medicine in Munich. It attained a doctorate there in the year 1909. 1902 occurred Zetkin the SPD, it changed 1917 to the USPD and 1919 to the KPD.

Starting from 1920 Zetkin worked as a surgeon in Moscow and became politically active also in Russia. It belonged to the CPSU starting from 1924. 1935 he became lecturer at medical Institut in Moscow. In the years 1936 and 1937 he participated as a physician in the numbers of the republican Armeee in the Spanish civil war.

After its return to the Soviet Union it was active from 1939 to 1941 in Moscow as a Chefarzt and afterwards up to the end of war in the Caucasus.

Maxim Zetkin returned to end of war 1945 to Germany and participated in the reconstruction of the health service in the Soviet zone of occupation. It joined 1946 the SED. From 1947 to 1960 it was active as a professor at the citizens of Berlin Humboldt university. Parallel to it it became 1949 medical director of the and starting from 1950 of leading coworkers in the Ministry for health in the GDR. Maxim Zetkin was joint founder of the publishing house people and health and gave two-restrains dictionary of the medicine out among other things.

For its activities it was distinguished 1955 with the patriotic earnings/service medal. It died 1965 in Berlin.
