Max home (* 1925) was a secret service officer in the Ministry for public security of the GDR and late prominent defector.

Home came during the Second World War as a young soldier of the armed forces into Russian war shank. It occurred the SED and became 1952 editor with Deutschlandsender at that time. In the year 1953 began it its activity for the MfS and was promoted there 1954 to officer. He dressed the rank of a captain last and was responsible as section chiefs for espionage against the Christian parties (essentially CDU and CSU) in the Federal Republic of Germany.

To 16. May 1959 succeeded it to home to set off into the Federal Republic where it put its secretofficial knowledge to the western intelligence services at the disposal and in particular over the head office clearing-up conveyed important structure realizations. It indicated among other things a number from 2000 to 3000 agents, those in the Federal Republic is active and unmasked some active GDR agents, by it to tungsten of Hanstein.
