Mathias Stinnes (* 1790 in "Â 1845 were as an industrial pioneer in the Ruhr district of the founders of the today's Stinnes AG.
Mathias Stinnes is born as a third son of a Ruhr boat operator. As a young person he works as a Schiffsjunge on the ship of his father. Afterwards it is active as a boat operator assistant in coal transport on the Ruhr. Together with its brothers it creates a coal action in and becomes a successful entrepreneur. At the end of its life it leaves d.J. (1817-1853), Gustav (1826-1878) and Hugo (1842-1887) to its three sons Mathias the largest German merchant fleet, participation in forty mines as well as extensive Landbesitz.
Mathias Stinnes creates 1808 an enterprise for navigation and coal trade. 1810 it acquires a coal place and a zweimastige Ruhraak and transports coal Ruhr and goods of all kinds Ruhr downward.
