Marimekko is the name of a Finnish company, the clothing and housewares from own Design particularly in company-owned shops drives out. The company Marimekko was created 1951 by Armi and Viljo Ratia.

The shops are relatively small (100-200 square meters) and are characterised in their mechanism by a simple Design. Special characteristic of Marimekko is however always, the Design which is based changing from year to year on the same basic principles: T-Shirts (it always also in version gives) touched two-colored crosswise and shirts two-colored lengthwise touched. There are per year only few Farbkombinationen.Auch within all wider ranges is noticeable the Design of Marimekko by Schlichtheit.
