The laurel plants (Lauraceae) are a family of the bedecktsamigen plants.

Description

Most kinds are bushes and trees, besides also some parasitische climbers occur. With the holzigen Taxa the sheets are ledrig.

The sheets of the Sassafrasbaums (Sassafras officinale) and the genuine laurel (Laurus nobilis) are used as spice. Some Laurus and kinds of lime tree RA are cultivated as ornamental plants.
