Specialist (E-4) Lynndie Rana England (* 8 November 1982 in Flatwoods, Kentucky) was a member of US Army. It buildup as the daughter of a railway worker in away Ashby in west Virginia in simple conditions. Their family lives in a camper park. It became a world-wide public in connection with humiliating tortures and abusing of Iraqi prisoners of war during the third Gulf War of the USA and its allied one against the Iraq admits.

Suspicion on abusing

In May 2004 report and photos arrived into the media, which proved that US-American military and secret service coworker prisoner in the Abu Ghuraib prison had tortured close Bagdad.

This caused world-wide at governments and in the media large indignation against the behavior of the US-American involved ones and responsible persons.

By the reports also Lynndie England came into the suspicion prisoners in the Iraqi Abu Ghuraib prison to have abused and of prisoner abusing was accused.

England expressed itself thereupon in television interviews. There it did not deny the authenticity of the photos, it stressed however that you had been instructed the actions in the photos by struggle-higher persons.

A photo for example shows a cigarette in the Mundwinkel and its hands in the foreground Lynndie England smiling, in the attitude, as if they aim with an imaginary rifle at the sex parts of a naked, with an hood man covered over the head or would shoot. In other pictures further, naked men pulled with hoods over the head are to be seen. A further photo shows Lynndie England with a dog line in the hand. At the other end of the line, on the soil lying man is to be seen naked.

Negotiation

The first hearing took place on Tuesday, 3 August 2004, before the military commission at the base away Bragg (North Carolina). Lynndie England represented of the lawyers rose Mary Zapor and Roy Hardy, which had furnished a donation collection for the covering of the lawyer costs. The case was referred to a military court of the Judge Advocate General's Corps.

England and further accused, among other things the father of its child, that likewise because of war crime accused and in January 2005 condemned Charles Graner, threatened with a verdict of guilty more than 30 years detention.

In a recent negotiation at the 3. May 2005 before the military court in away Hood, Texas has it itself on recommending its defender in seven of nine charges for guiltily well-known. The last two charges thereupon to fall calmly. By the agreement with the bar the possible maximum penalty thereby sinks from 16,5 on 11 years.

On 26 September 2005 England was guiltily spoken of the military court in six of seven charges. Before the pronouncement of judgment it indicated, by its friend at that time Charles Graner to have become used for its photos. On 27 September 2005 the court specified the final measure of punishment and condemned England to three years detention. The court remained thereby with its judgement six years under the demand of the prosecutors.
