Luigi Lucheni (* 22 April 1873 in Paris; "Â 19 October 1910), falsely Luccheni, was an Italian Anarchist. On 10 September 1898 it killed empress Elisabeth in Geneva at the bank promenade Geneva lake. Lucheni was come to Geneva, there it (allegedly) intended to murder the duke from to. Since this changed its travel plan however at short notice, Elizabeth became his victim, because it was so prominent Aristokratin and that its act would excite tremendous attention.
Briefly after the act, of which Lucheni was very proud, he was arrested. He was condemned on 10 November consequently to life imprisonment, themselves however 1910 in its cell.
Although the empress had traveled inkognito under the alias "countess of Hohenembs" to that Geneva lake, a newspaper announced that it had descended in the hotel "Beau Rivage". This message decided on its life.
Lucheni wanted to be seized both, and it receive its death sentence - not from regret but as indication of the Anarchismus.Er did not know that it had fulfilled Elizabeth with its assassination attempt a desire: Far away of their love to find fast and painless death.
