Luggage station is the name for a package automat of DHL, the package and express delivery service of German post office World Net. Customers can let themselves be supplied packages and packages to a luggage station of their choice and also transmissions away there send. The luggage station is here usually around the clock accessible and usable.

Handling

As soon as a package arrived, the customer is informed about it by E-Mail and/or SMS. The use of the package automats is free both for private and for business customers. Necessary only a previous free registration is, e.g. under www.packstation.de. After the registration the customers receive by writings a customer map, a post office number for the addressing and to pin, with which the package automats can be used similarly as money automats. Cash-on-delivery items can be by transfer paid directly at the package automat by EC or money map. Also DHL package marks for franking of packages can be bought at many luggage act ions.

With the luggage station also goods returned packages can be sent away and with package marks freed packages, as well as plus packages, if one is announced customer. As a customer one logs oneself with its customer map (and/or without map also only with the customer number) and pin in, selects a specialized size, scannt the bar code of goods returned or package mark at the scanner of the luggage station and puts the transmission into opening the subject. The maximum mass for all transmissions 60 x 35 x 35 cm amount to.

Addressing

The addressing of a transmission to a luggage station should take place after the following sample:

Here "12345678" is the customer number of the customer, who is firmly assigned to this. The customer can look up the number, postal zip code and place of the luggage station in a listing, e.g. on the Website of the enterprise. The customer is not durably fixed on a certain luggage station, but can decide by purposeful addressing of a luggage station with each transmission freely, where it is to be deposited.

Luggage station depot

As alternative to the luggage station DHL in some cities offered also the service to luggage station depot (during the testing phase in Kerpen and "depot service" mentioned). With this without the list of the automats one did (from place and/or cost reasons). Instead transmissions were addressed directly at a branch or a post office agency. The customer was informed as with the normal luggage station by SMS or E-Mail, and could fetch the transmission - however only within the usual opening times - at the respective expenditure for package. There were depots in potsdam, (Westphalia), Kerpen, and After the testing phase this service was stopped.

Luggage station for enterprises

Inhouse Packstation

Since January 2004 DHL for large enterprises (starting from a number of coworkers of 3000) offers also so-called Inhouse Packstationen. This is not particularly for such enterprises interesting in those the coworkers regulated work time, work and/or until late into the night and therefore your packages and packages to the enterprise address send themselves. Since this is not always gladly seen however by the enterprises, but to be given nevertheless, can this is to request the employee a possibility with DHL such . Kundenaktzeptanz

So far over 400.000 customers for the system luggage station announced themselves. In the context of annual customer opinion polls the service received good notes throughout, then the total evaluation lies from the year 2005 with 1,8 on a 6er-Skala (1 = very well, 6 = very badly) on a comparatively very high level and in relation to the evaluation of 1,9 in the previous year again easily improved. Altogether 87% of the asked customers evaluated luggage station with 1 or 2.

Due to the large customer resonance in the year 2006 over 30 further cities to the luggage act ion net are attached.
