Louis Constans Berger (* 28 August 1829 in Witten; "Â 9 August 1891 in Horchheim with Koblenz) was a Wittener of Industrieller and liberal politician.
Its father was the Industrielle Carl Ludwig Berger, the 1854 the casting steel factory Carl Berger & CO. (today Thyssen high-grade steel) had based. 1856 he married Luise raking place, daughter of the industrial pioneer Friedrich raking place. It occurred the company of its father and developed the production of casting steel rifle runs, whereby the enterprise took a substantial upswing. It belonged to the supporters of the realm military law of 1874. Originally it belonged to the progress party and educated later together with lion Calbe its own parliamentary group between national liberals and a progress party.
Because of its earnings/services to the promotion of railway traffic conditions, in particular its employment for the building of the 1885 inaugurated railway connection Wengerohr Wittlich, he was appointed 1884 the honour citizen of the city Wittlich. In the year 2000 the Mosel Maare cycle track on the former clearing race in Wittlich "Louis mountain he way" was designated.
In the year 1891 the turn municipality Witten of 1848 from 1902 to 1904 let well 10 years after Bergers death establish in honours of its joint founder the mountain devising mark in Witten. In 1839 the delighted family seat at the Ruhr road in Witten is today the local history museum Witten.
