Quotation

The ingenious artists of the Staufer period I feel choice related by my earlier work - my gothical Wandmalereien in the Marienkirche and in other Sakralbauten -. The of culture history celebrated me as one of them and let me anno Domini 1321 there-separate, before one exposed me as "a largest counterfeiter of all times ". For the artists of that time the appointment to its creative achievement would have been the heap of failure worthy a death sin, there the attribute "creative "still until far in 18. Century inside alone the allpowerful was entitled. They would have found it completely legitimate that I once, which obeying, in its style for Heaven's sake the church ships to the pious one the decorated emergency of the post-war period and for my darbenden family also "genuine "Rembrandts, Utrillos and Picassos brought out. The Malskat scandal gone through the international press faded away, and if in the famous mirror discussion with Heidegger my name released a dispute over natures and task of the present art, then I see therein a symptom for a trend-setting adequate appreciation. It is a grace the fact that I now which around the almost existence relieved fight, which may bring in harvest of my experiences with nature and art in my late work.

With best greetings

Its Lothar Malskat
