The LDW (Lloyd direct current generator works & CO. Kg) are a German enterprise with seat in Bremen, Hemelingen.
The production emphasis is with large electrical machines (engines/generators), among other things for marine engines.
History
- 1915 was created the Lloyd direct current generator works under co-operation north Germans of the Lloyd. Building of equal and alternating-current motors and complete ship installations.
- 1934 were taken over the stock majority by AEG. Building of direct current motors and - generators up to an achievement of several MW and three-phase synchronous generators.

- 1983 extension the production range: Direct current motors up to 8,000 KW, synchronous machines up to 55,000 KW, asynchronous machines up to 35,000 KW.
- 1986 new assembly workshop and test field for machines up to 200 tons.
- 1994 restructuring with focus on the core business: Sales and development, winding, assembly, examination and service.
- 1996 assumption of the shares by the Elexis AG
- 1999 LDW becomes an independent enterprise. Marketing is made further over the label of the AEG.
