A line analysis (PLA) is an ecological balance, which represents additionally the social and social criteria of a product. She judges a product regarding all effects of the raw material procurement, its production, its processing, its transport, its use and its recycling or its disposal. The ecological balance refers however only to ecological criteria.

For the visualization of a line analysis either a Mindmap or a matrix is provided. The matrix is divided into the three large aspects environment, economics and society.
