Liliput is a manufacturer of model railways of the size H0 (track width 16.5 mm). The enterprise is today part of the British group of brook men.

History

Liliput was created 1947 by walter in Vienna. At first sheet metal railways were manufactured, starting from 1950 were occupied one with the production of plastic models. A further manufacturing plant was starting from 1977 in bathing with Vienna. The enterprise developed to the firm size in the model railway market, which was considered high Detailierungsgrad of its models as trailblazing. Above all models were produced after German and model.

However the technical execution of Liliput models was subject to criticism, particularly the quality of the Lokomotivantriebe contradicted again and again again and again the successful optical quality of the models. The company came to end of the 80's-years into economic difficulties, first arose to the autopattern making Herpa as new partners.

The activities of Herpa were however only a short intermediate play, because 1992 took over the British model course manufacturer brook man Europe PLC. Liliput and shifted production to cadres the Industrial Company Ltd. to Hong Kong. Development and selling of the Liliput products take place since then via the German address in old village with Nuremberg.

Because of the different owner changes of the enterprise one differentiates today with the temporal classification of Liliput models between Liliput Vienna, Herpa Liliput as well as Liliput Bachmann.

Today's product range

Liliput offers today locomotives as well as passenger train and trucks for the size to H0, mainly after German, Swiss and Austrian models, for large parts still with the forms from Vienna produced. Many of the up-to-date offered products are therefore also advancements of older models from the Viennese Liliput time.

A specialty of Liliput were e.g. since more jeher series, like the series 05, more failed, 45 or the 214.

Liliput manufactures primarily for the international two-leader system. Liliput Vienna offered a larger pallet of vehicles also for the neutral conductor alternating current system. These activities pushed with Liliput Bachmann however voresrst on small interest and starting from approximately 2004/2005 around again were only taken up.

To the firm assortment of Liliput belong in addition also narrow-gauge railways after Austrian models in the size H0e (track width 9 mm). Admit are above all the models of the row U in its numerous variants.
