Lexus is a label name, which is used by Toyota for luxury automobiles. Lexus competes directly with traditional luxury marks such as Mercedes Benz, BMW and Audi. In the year 2005 Toyota started the selling of the mark Lexus also in its homeland Japan.
With the LS Lexus brought 1989 its first model to 400 on the US market. The vehicle did not have large thing in common with the Toyota models offered before there owing to its 4-Liter V8-Motors. Mainly for its low noise level and its outstanding quality of workmanship was praised and could win large market shares on the North American market within a short time. Gradually followed further models and model variants, which stepped all into competition to the other manufacturers of luxury automobiles. Lexus vehicles achieve highest places in their categories in renowned industry inquiries to quality and buyer satisfaction. Lexus engines apply with competitors as reference regarding reliability and quiet running. On the other hand by the technical literature the sportyness lacking and the conservative Design of the vehicles were criticized.
Lexus automobiles are manufactured to a large extent in their own factory in the Japanese town Tahara. The jeep RX is only produced in Canadian Cambridge.
The market share in Germany is infinitesimal small. Thus Lexus counted straight with the conception of the last LS430 on a paragraph of once 200 copies per year.
