Levinus Battus, in Gent, "† 11 April 1591 in Rostock) was the son of Battus (1515 Aelst (Flanders) "† 1558 in Rostock) and had because of its Evangelist conviction 1556 its homeland to leave. Levinus was registered in Rostock 1557, studied in Wittenberg, where it became Magister artrium, referred as such 1560 the University of Rostock and took over mathematical lectures. 1564 it became rain of the Collogiums at the artistic faculty and fled 1565 before the plague to Italy. There it attained a doctorate to the doctor of the medicine and after its return after Rostock 1566 as the extraordinary professor of the medicine was appointed.

In first marriage it was 1563 with Anna, who daughter, married famous Konrad level. Its oldest son Levin was lawyer and professor Vicarius in Rostock ("† 1643). Battus was considered at that time as capable Mathmatiker and medical profession. It stated at that time already that one could heal the epilepsy by opening the head cover. 1591 it published the works of its friend Jacob boron thing, with which it heard.
