Kamow (Russian , English Kamov company) was created 1948, was first a Soviet OKB (experimental design engineering department) and is meanwhile a Russian helicopter manufacturer. The enterprise is designated after Nikolai Iljitsch Kamow, the former chief designer.

The special all Kamow helicopters is their coaxial system of double rotors moving in opposite directions. This

• make redundant a moment reconciliation at the tail,
• reduce the danger of injury for maintenance staff or standing around persons,
• avoid the power loss with the drive of the tail rotor and
• exhibit altogether a smaller number of critical construction units.

History

The enterprise was created 1948 as an experimental design engineering department OKB. Since 1992 it firmiert as "JSC Kamov" (Joint stick company, Russian corporation). It develops and produces further civilian, military and special helicopters.
