Kurt Eggers (* 10 November 1905 in Berlin, "† 12 August 1943 in Bjelograd) was a German writer and a National Socialist culture politician.

Life

Kurt Eggers was born as a son of a bank employee. It participated after the First World War in the and took part 1920 also in the cut Putsch. it occurred 1921 the free corps Anna mountain.

After a broken off buyer and agriculture teachings Eggers worked briefly as property worker and 1924 few weeks in the realm resistance. Afterwards it studied philosophy as well as theology and worked 18 months as an auxiliary minister of Neustrelitz, before it discovered its interest in the letter.

By the passionate nationalism in its early works he came soon with LV circles into contact, which made him the member in the Goebbels poet circle. 1933 led Eggers the "realm transmitter Leipzig", and 1936 the department of "celebration organization" in the race and settlement principal office of the SS. In this characteristic Eggers was an author of numerous dramas, hearing and Singspiele, stories, moving and soldier songs as well as speech choirs for ritual celebrations. Particularly Ulrich of Hutten inspired numerous of its books. Many of its works appeared in the north country publishing house.

The weapon SS designated the unit after Eggers, which was fallen in Russia on 12 August 1943 in the age of 37 years, in which its war correspondents were summarized (SS-banner Kurt Eggers). With the commemoration ceremony to his death its friend Heinrich George read from his works.

Achievements

Eggers used prefers events of the German history and contemporary history, which he heroisiert nationalistic. Well-known examples are the radio plays "Ulrich of Hutten "and "Anna mountain ".
