The Kupfermuckn is a upper-Austrian road newspaper. It is sold in the city by Linz, Wels and Steyr. Ten expenditures with an edition between 10.000 and 15.000 booklets appear annual. The street sale price amounts to 2 euro, of it remains to 1 euro the salesman.

History

1996 organized the association working group for homeless people a write workshop. The results of this write workshop were combined into a newspaper, which was distributed in the Linzer city center. Due to the substantial demand it is sold also further - at first quarterly, since 2002 monthly - on the road.

Term explanation

The term Kupfermuckn originates from the vocabulary of homeless ones and means "sleep place" and/or "Unterschlupf" in an abandoned building or a hut.

Organization

The enterprise of the Kupfermuckn is organized by a full-time team and financed from own release, subsidies from country upper Austria and the city Linz as well as special culture promotions and donations.

Homeless people humans at and under the poverty border and employees of the "working group for homeless people" work together on this project.
