Koroplastik one calls the production of small figures from burned clay/tone, with which the Terrakotten in such a way specified develops.
The most important objects manufactured as Koroplastik are small round figures, which were pressed, burned in the form, covered then with Pfeifenthon, after-modelled from free hand and painted in tender color tones. Some seem to have served as toy or as article for interior decoration. The majority was however probably created for purposes of the Kultus and the dead service.
Were Weihgeschenke at the Gods and dead ones, therefore them in graves to be preferably found.
