Koopetition is an art term taken over from the English language, which was formed from the words co-operation (co-operation) and Kompetition (competition). It describes a behavior of (economics) participants, at which they work despite the existing competition on certain levels together. On the one hand it can concern thereby smaller enterprises, which form a kind consortium, in order to be able to accomplish together a large-scale project. On the other hand it can concern the agreement on certain rules or standards, in order to be able and/or around network effects to use be able to intersperse of all offered product better at the market.

Example of a Koopetition is Bosch Siemens domestic appliances, where in the Vorwettbewerb the research of Siemens and Bosch take place together however in development and marketing certain independence exists.
