Knowledge map (also Yellow map or Knowledge map) the schematic overview of the knowledge of the persons employed in an organization is called.

The knowledge map is to help coworkers to find the correct approach place with questions. It is particularly helpful at large or complex developed enterprises and organizations, in which the coworkers know each other among themselves only limited. The preliminary stage of a knowledge map is the family tree, which is extended with additional data in-slow-acting. With the structure of a knowledge map the fundamental question arises whether the entry takes place obligating or voluntarily, which knowledge ranges are covered and whether there is to be an evaluation of the knowledge.

The data are determined on the basis a dossier, whose usual contents are:

  1. Name
  2. Activity designation
  3. Department
  4. Qualifications
  5. Interests
  6. Field
  7. Contact information
