After the attendance of the Humanisti High School in Berlin it was active from 1926 to 1933 as an editor citizens of Berlin of a daily paper and later from 1933 to 1938 than director of publishing house in Rostock. Afterwards it withdrew itself as "writer that farmer" to a yard into Mecklenburg.
After the Second World War it lived 1948 in Schleswig-Holstein and worked there as a foreman in reforestation measures and became joint founder of the protective association German forest (SDW), whose managing director was 30 years long he in the regional organization Schleswig-Holstein.
1957 it created the German forest youth (DWJ) as youth organization of the protective association German forest. It remained always closely connected for the forest youth. it donated the Klaus Gundelach price, which is lent annually by the presidency of the SDW at individuals or groups of the German forest youth for outstanding achievements to 1975. Its earnings/services were appreciated with the Schleswig-Holstein medal and the Order of Merit. Klaus Gundelach deceased 1989 at the age of 84 years. After it the promotion association of the German forest youth is designated: Klaus Gundelach fund registered association.
